Here We Go…

On the anniversary of the scariest day in America’s history during my lifetime- I begin an important journey. Today, September 11, 2008- I have made a decision to commit to community. To myself. To this country.
You see- making a difference sounds cliche. How sad is that? So instead… I am saying that I am 25 (in four days) and that I am LIVE and ABLE and NEED to affect those that are around me. Given those factors… I don’t think there’s anything else that I can be doing right now.
I am unemployed and not getting PAID for any of this work. It’s just something I have to do.
I am going to be working on two major projects over the next 6 weeks.
- I am a member of the finance committee for the No on Prop 8 campaign in the state of CA
- I am a Deputy Field Organizer for the Barack Obama for President Campaign nationwide
So here’s the plan… I will be emailing those I love with a strong letter and request for support for the No on Prop 8 campaign. Some I have asked for money from before, some are new and some haven’t heard from me in a while. But we have to be united against the conservative minority who are pouring MILLIONS into getting this proposition confirmed.

I will also be teaming up with some of my other key players here in La La land to get the word out, get others to appeal to their families and loved ones, and to GET OUT THE VOTE. Stay tuned for information on how you can get involved.
This weekend- I head to Camp Obama. There, I will be trained to be a Deputy Field Organizer for the campaign. I will spend at least one weekend in Nevada and possibly the rest of my time in another battleground state like Ohio or North Carolina working to win these important states in the election.
I will document my days and my journey on this blog. I am sure it’s going to be quite the read…
STAY TUNED
