So the plans are being formalized. I am packing my bags tomorrow and driving up to Northern California where I leave my puppies and my car with my parents for over a month. I have been lucky enough to find a good girl to take over my lease while I am gone which means that I won’t have to pay rent.
What I am even MORE excited about, is that there is a website called “travelforchange.org” where you can register a travel profile and request support to cover the costs of travel to volunteer for Obama. My mother heard about the website on the news. And wouldn’t you know it… the very DAY that I registered on the website I received a sponsor for the cost of my travel to Ohio! I’m going to give a shout out to Aleks Totic and his family for passing on their frequent flyer miles to me!!! We’ve never met and yet we are united. It’s just BEAUTIFUL.
I’ve also been lucky enough to have an old friend (old in longevity, not years) who has volunteered to put me up while I am in town. He and his partner are welcoming me into their home. Shout out to Peety for showing me love!
Lastly- I have experienced an OUTPOURING of love and support from my friends and neighbors. When I tell them what I am doing and what my journey will be- they offer nothing but words of encouragement. They are excited for me. They are happy that I am getting out there. So inspiring.
