The Hike Against Hate

Hiking Hunnies collecting monies

I just wanted to give a shout out to Tatum. After a conversation had over a couple of beers and some bowling, and some other great influences who apparently all had the same idea (go Chase!), she decided to take the initiative to turn her regular weekly hiking group (the Hiking Hunnies) into a fundraiser for No on Prop 8.

Over 20 lovely lesbian ladies showed up, cash in hand, with sneaks on their feet ready to climb a mountain. Well… a hill. Anyway it was more uphill than the average SoCal vixen climbs. And there we were, standing in a circle, introducing ourselves, and united against Hate.

I said a few words about what No on Prop 8 is, why we are gathered together, and the type of help that we need. The ladies listened. They asked questions. They shared their fears and the rumors they’d heard. I felt honored to hear their stories, fill their ears with enriching and motivating information, and to join them as we scaled Franklin Canyon. It was beautiful.
